There are many famous individuals who have served in the military before achieving success in their respective fields. Here are some examples of famous army veterans:
- Elvis Presley – The King of Rock and Roll served in the US Army from 1958 to 1960.
- Colin Powell – The retired four-star general served in the US Army for 35 years and became the first African American to serve as Secretary of State.
- Chuck Norris – The martial artist and actor served in the US Air Force and later in the Air National Guard.
- Morgan Freeman – The actor served in the US Air Force as a radar technician during the 1950s.
- Clint Eastwood – The actor and director served in the US Army during the Korean War.
- Pat Tillman – The former NFL player served in the US Army after the September 11 attacks and was killed in action in Afghanistan.
- Buzz Aldrin – The astronaut and second person to walk on the moon served as a fighter pilot in the US Air Force.
